Don Burns
|
Santa Monica born Don Burns started in radio as a teenager and has had a most varied and stellar broadcasting career prior to joining 94.7 The WAVE in 1988.
After stints at local suburban stations, Don combined a tour of duty for Uncle Sam with career experience serving in Europe and then Vietnam from 1967-68. While in Vietnam, Don served as a combat correspondent and filed reports to major US Newworks during the Tet Offensive of 1968. Don also was the host of the "Good Morning Vietnam" radio program at the American Forces Radio and Television Headquarters in Saigon.
After his discharge, Honolulu television lured him to an anchor position with NBC...then it was on to major market radio in Seattle, followed by a return to Los Angeles. He has been a mainstay on the airwaves of some of Southern California's preeminent stations and the voice of such commercials as Toyota, McDonalds and Ford Trucks. Today, Don is considered one of the premier voices in broadcasting. |
