Guests: Two representatives from the Kiwanis Club of Glendale, John Sadd, President, and Victor Legerton, Secretary and Founder of the Duck Race, came into promote the upcoming “3rd Annual Kiwanis Incredible Duck Splash (K.I.D.S.),” taking place on Saturday, October 20th. This community fundraiser will provide revenue to benefit their scholarships that are awarded to local high school & college students. They also talked about the support they provide to many of the local charities including, the Salvation Army, YMCA, YWCA, The Women’s Center at the Memorial Hospital & the Glendale Library’s “Read Aloud” program.

Guests: Leif Green, Event Director of AIDS Walk Los Angeles, came in to promote the upcoming walk taking place on Sunday, October 21st. This major fundraising event helps to raise awareness about aids infections in our community & the continuing need for prevention & education as well as to raise funds to provide medical services to those who cannot afford it.

Guests: Agi Hirshberg, Founder of the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, came in to promote the upcoming “10th Anniversary L.A. Cancer Challenge,” taking place on Sunday, October 28th in West Los Angeles. This event celebrates 10 years of devotion to Pancreatic Cancer research by the Hirshberg Foundation in pursuit of an effective screening method as well as a cure for this fatal disease.

Guests: “Iron” Andy Holder came in to discuss the “Managing Diabetes: Living Without Limits” campaign he is a part of. This national campaign is designed to inspire people living with diabetes to go after their goals and dreams in life & not to be short stopped by the disease. The secondary mission of the campaign is to educate diabetics about the importance of including a pharmacist on their team of health care professionals to help manage the disease.

Segment V - 11:50pm – 12:00am         
Guests: Neil Brandom, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, came in to discuss Duchenne Disease, a deadly form of Muscular Dystrophy that strikes boys and is diagnosed usually during childhood and causes a progressive loss of muscle function & independence. He also talked about the Parent Projects efforts to locate & invest in research, provide education, advocacy & other issues that directly influence the well-being of those affected by the disease.
