Guest: Karen Taylor, Founder, Chairman & CEO of the HUSH Foundation, a grass roots non-profit organization that provides grants to programs and services that support local and national underserved, unrepresented, low-income, and homeless children with terminal, infectious, or disabling diseases and/or educational needs and supports pediatric HIV/AIDS and Cancer research. And their plan to make a real difference in the County of Los Angeles and surrounding communities, by working side-by-side with local people on community led initiatives to help prevent HIV/AIDS in children and support Pediatric HIV/AIDS Research. She Also talked about fundraising event, a Night of Jazz and Fashion by the Sea Benefit Concert for Children with HIV/AIDS and Pediatric HIV/AIDS to help educate and bring awareness about HIV/AIDS and how this deadly disease is preventing our children from living to their full potential.

Guest: Wally Holmes, Director of the Sweet & Hot Music Festival, discussed the upcoming 13th annual celebration of the culture and artists behind American Popular Music of the 20’s, 30’s and 40’s. Mr. Holmes expressed his concerns about the need to recapture the country’s appreciation of and support for this music that once was known as a National Treasure that spilled out and unified people from every walk of life. He feels that the music could be just the thing to mend our shattered, fragmented society.

Guest: Earl Mindell, R.P.h,Ph.D., discussed the new Vitamin Bible and the upcoming 36th Annual Cancer Convention presented by the Cancer Control Society taking place on Labor Day Weekend. Dr. Mindell shared an overview of the Conventions’ featured speakers and topics. He also provided insight into his feelings that Cancer is out of control in this country and our focus should shift from raising funds to fight the disease to prevention and training people and teaching them how to eat better and the value of both eating whole and natural foods and taking vitamins supplements

Guest: Allison Gilbert, Author of Always Too Soon, came in to discuss her book thatexamines the impact of losing both parents has on us & our lives. She concludes from her research & personal experience that bereavement can be a therapeutic catalyst for changes. She also shared some tips on keeping the memory of your mother and father alive for the entire family year round.
