TRIP-A-DAY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD
OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
1. How to Enter the Contest
a. The KTWV (“Station” or “KTWV”) “Anywhere in the World You Choose the Destination”. (Trip-A-Day) contest will begin on February 21, 2005 at 12:00:00 AM local Station time and end on December 31, 2007 at 11:59:59 PM local Station time.
b. To participate in the contest, you must enter through one of the following four means of entry:
1. Send an entry to KTWV by fax to (323) 549-9283 ATTN: Trip-A-Day Contest, with your first and last name, complete address including zip code, daytime telephone number, and date of birth.
2. Send an entry to KTWV by mail to 5670 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 200, Los Angeles, California 90036 with your first and last name, complete address including zip code, daytime telephone, and date of birth.
3. To enter online, you must go to www.947thewave.com and enter your first name and last name, complete address including zip code, home telephone number and a valid email address in the online entry form. One Internet entry per person and one Internet entry per email address. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the email address by an internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible by assigning email address or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Email club members are automatically entered into the contest.
4. Contestants may also enter onsite at KTWV events from 2/20/05 to 12/31/07. To participate in the contest, fill out an entry from with your first and last name, complete address including zip code, daytime telephone number, and date of birth at and deposit the completed entry form onsite.
c. Listeners who received KTWV’s “Airwaves” magazine and opted to be entered into the Trip-A-Day Promotion will also be automatically be entered.
d. All entries must be received by December 31, 2007 at 11:59:59 PM local Station time, however, the earlier an entrant submits an entry, the better his/her odds of being selected in the random drawing. All entries become the property of sponsors and will not be returned. KTWV is not responsible for lost, stolen, mangled, misdelivered, illegible, or untimely entries. Station also is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the internet, service outage or delays, computer difficulties, telephone service outages, delays, busy signals, equipment malfunctions facsimile transmission errors and any other technological difficulties that may prevent an individual from submitting his/her entry.
e. Only one entry per person and email address is allowed. All duplicate entries and email addresses will be deleted.
2. Eligibility Restrictions
a. The contest is open to all KTWV listeners who are 18 years of age or older and who legally reside in the following Southern California Counties: Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, San Bernardino County, and Ventura County. Employees of KTWV, its Licensee, CBS Radio Inc. and CBS Corporation, affiliated entities, its affiliated advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and the members of their immediate family (mother, father, step-mother, step-father, siblings, children, spouse) (a “Household”) are ineligible to participate or win.
b. Winner may win only once throughout the duration of the contest. Only one winner per Household is permitted in any contest.
c. Winner must be a legal US resident with a valid Social Security number. Winner will be required to sign a release of liability and W9 Tax Form upon winning.
3. Internet Contest Privacy Policy:
a. By use of this website and by entering the Contest, you agree to KTWV Web Site Terms of Use Agreement and to the use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy located at: “http://www.947thewave.com/privacypolicy.asp”.
4. Prizes:
1. A maximum of 260 Prizes will be awarded. Prize winners will be given the choice of receiving one (1) of the following:
1. A prize of either two (2) prize certificates which may be used for roundtrip air transportation for two (2) from Los Angeles International Airport to the destination of the winner's choice selected from the following 199 destinations, subject to availability, blackout dates, and other restrictions. Class of tickets will be based on the discounted contracted class fares through ticket consolidators of All Star Travel Group. Not valid on published fares unless the published fare is lower than the contracted fare.
2. A check in the amount of $1,000 in the winner's name from KTWV-FM.
Winner will have 2 days within initial contact from KTWV-FM to make their decision as to which option they choose.

IF WINNER CHOOSES OPTION 4a1 AS STATED ABOVE (The 2 Prize Certficates):
EACH WINNER MUST COME TO THE KTWV STUDIOS WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF WINNING THEIR TRIP TO FILL OUT THEIR RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM AND W9 TAX FORM, AND TO DESIGNATE THEIR CHOICE OF DESTINATION, WHICH CANNOT BE CHANGED WITHOUT COST TO THE WINNER. FAILURE TO DO SO WITHIN 2 WEEKS OF WINNING WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF TRIP. UPON COMING TO THE KTWV STUDIOS, WINNER WILL RECEIVE A COPY OF THE RULES, A FAQ SHEET, LIST OF DESTINATIONS WITH COST AND CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE ALL STAR TRAVEL GROUP.
SOME TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS MAY APPLY. TRIP MUST BE USED WITHIN ONE (1) YEAR FROM THE DATE THAT THE PRIZE IS WON AND IS SUBJECT TO TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS. VALUE OF TRIP IS BASED ON DESTINATION CHOSEN BY WINNER. APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE IS BETWEEN $295 and $1,500 PER WINNER, AND WILL VARY BASED ON DESTINATION, DATE OF TRAVEL, AND FARES IN EFFECT AT TIME OF TRAVEL.
ALL WINNERS ARE GRANTED 30 CALENDAR DAYS FROM THE DATE THEY RECEIVE TRAVEL AGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION FROM KTWV TO CONTACT ALL STAR TRAVEL GROUP AND BOOK THEIR TRIP. ANY TRIPS NOT BOOKED WITHIN THE 30 CALENDAR DAYS WILL BE FORFEITED. ALL STAR TRAVEL GROUP CONTACT INFORMATION WILL BE RECEIVED BY WINNER UPON SIGNING OF RELEASE & W9 FORMS.
HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS ARE SOLELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER. IF WINNER IS INTERESTED IN SETTING UP A HOTEL STAY ON THEIR OWN ACCORD, ALL STAR TRAVEL CAN ASSIST WINNER IF NEEDED. ALL TRIPS HAVE A MINIMUM STAY OF SATURDAY NIGHT AND A MAXIMUM STAY OF 30 DAYS. STOPOVERS ARE NOT ALLOWED EXCEPT FOR CONNECTING PURPOSES ONLY. ALL PRIZE CERTIFICATES AND/OR AIRLINE TICKETS ARE NON-TRANFERRABLE AND NON-REPLACEABLE IF LOST OR STOLEN. ONCE REDEEMED, NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE. REQUESTS TO PROCESS PROMOTIONAL VOUCHERS MUST BE DONE AT LEAST 21 DAYS IN ADVANCE PRIOR TO DESIRED SCHEDULED FLIGHT.
Prize Winners and their travel companions are solely responsible for all applicable taxes, including, but not limited to, ground transportation, hotel, hospitality and airport taxes, telephone charges, meals, gratuities, transfers, spending money and any other expenses not specifically offered herein. The guests of the grand prize winners must also be at least 18 years of age or older or be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The guests of the grand prize winners must travel on the same trip itinerary as winners. Winners and guests are responsible for obtaining passports, visas, or any other requisite travel documentation prior to international travel.
IF WINNER CHOOSES OPTION 4a2 AS STATED ABOVE (The $1000 cash):
WINNER’S CHOICE TO RECEIVE THE $1000 FROM KTWV-FM IS FINAL UPON DECISION. THE CHECK IN THE AMOUNT OF $1000 WILL BE MADE OUT IN THE WINNER’S NAME AND IS NON-TRANSFERRABLE AND NO SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE PERMITTED. UPON NOTIFICATION FROM KTWV-FM OF CHECK BEING READY, WINNER MUST COME TO THE KTWV-FM STUDIOS WITHIN 30 DAYS TO PICK-UP THEIR CHECK. UPON PICKING UP OF CHECK, WINNER WILL RECEIVE A COPY OF THE RULES AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A W9 FORM AND RECEIPT FOR ACCEPTANCE OF CHECK. WINNER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR APPLICABLE TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS PRIZE. CHECK CANNOT BE MAILED TO WINNER. IF CHECK IS NOT PICKED UP WITH 30 DAYS, CHECK WILL BE VOIDED AND CANNOT BE REISSUED. KTWV-FM IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR STOLEN CHECKS. CHECKS CANNOT BE RE-ISSED IF LOST OR STOLEN.
b. All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of KTWV, 5670 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 200, Los Angeles, California 90036 during normal business hours Monday through Friday between 8:30am-5:30pm only. Any prize or prize certificate not claimed within fourteen (14) days of winning will be forfeited by the winner. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its arrival. KTWV is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.
c. Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash.
5. Selection of Winners & Process of Giveaway
a. All decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.
b. Names called each day between 2/21/05 and 12/31/07 will be selected the prior business day at approximately 5pm through a random drawing of all entries received by 5pm the previous business day.
c. A total of one (1) name will be announced each weekday (including holidays unless otherwise noted by KTWV) between the hours of 8am-5pm. Each day, the name will be announced at the top of the hour selected for that day. A calendar of announcement times can be found on the KTWV webpage (www.947thewave.com), in the KTWV newsletter, and as promoted on the air.
d. Names selected come from two different database sources:
1) KTWV’s online database which is composed of names of listeners who have signed up online via KTWV’s website, mail, fax and at various KTWV events or
2) KTWV’s list of names from an older database of listeners who received KTWV’s “Airwaves” magazine and opted to be entered into the Trip-A-Day Promotion.
5. When the potential winner hears their name announced on the air, they must call the KTWV studios at (800) 520-9283 to claim their prize within 30 minutes. If winner does not call within 30 minutes or calls over the 30 minute mark, no winner will be declared for that day. All unclaimed prized will be forfeited and will not be awarded. The unclaimed name will be taken our of the KTWV Trip-A-Day database for the remainder of that year and placed back in the following year.
6. Conditions
a. Payments of all federal, state and local taxes are solely the responsibility of the winners. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.
b. By participating in the contest, the winner or winners agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.
c. Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, the Station in its sole discretion may require contest winners (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release, agreeing to hold KTWV, its corporate licensee, its parent corporations, affiliated companies and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
d. KTWV, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the KTWV Web Site or is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.
e. KTWV reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest, including the substitution of a prize or equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement. If due to circumstances beyond the control of KTWV, the
Trip-A-Day name announcement or any prize related airline flights are delayed, rescheduled, postponed or cancelled, KTWV reserves the right, but not the obligation, to cancel or modify the contest and shall not be required to award a substitute prize.
f. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification, at the sole discretion of KTWV.
g. KTWV is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest, or in the announcement of a prize.
